10 Family Fun Activities To Do In Your Home

Family fun begins at home. Now is the time to take full advantage of having the family all together under one roof. We have a few ideas for guaranteed smiles all around. 

1.Slip and Slide: Ready for a good laugh? Enjoy your very own homemade slip and slide! With it being the first week of Spring, it is the perfect time to be outdoors with the family. Be sure to find your swimsuit and let loose with the kids! 

What You Need: 

  • Painter’s Tarp: (Dust off the tarp in your garage or head to your local paint store to get a 100 ft. tarp) 
  • Tent Stakes: (optional) This will ensure that your tarp doesn’t slip and slide when you attempt to slip and slide!
  • Soap: Everyone knows in order to slip and slide you must have soap. You can pick this up at your local grocery store or you may find it under your kitchen sink.
  • Water Hose: Turn the water on and let the fun begin! 

Good luck trying not to crack a smile when the entire family joins in on the fun! 

2. Sidewalk Chalk: In need of a break from work or being indoors? Get outside for a fifteen minute break with the kids and let your imagination run wild! You will be surprised how some sunshine and creativity is just what you need to get back to being productive!

3. The Extreme Cleaning Challenge: Find an area in your home in desperate need of some TLC. Split up the list between family members and set a timer to see who can complete the task the fastest. Be sure to inspect for quality of work too! This is a fun idea to get a head start on Spring cleaning. Plus, you are teaching your kids that cleaning can be fun when you call it “Extreme” or a “Challenge.”

4. Wacky Family Fashion Show: Set a timer and collect random clothes throughout the house and allow your kids to mix up your fashion looks. Each family member or pet has to take turns modeling the wacky looks. Be sure to get it on camera and look back on these wacky, fun times.

5. Board Games: When in doubt, board games are always a huge win! Introduce your favorite board game to your kids. Sit down in your living room as a family and enjoy an old  fashion family night. You’ll be surprised at how competitive it can get! Well they did learn from the best! #gamefaces

6. Pizza Delivery: Pizza is a staple in most households. Take it to the next level. After you finish off the pizza, reuse the pizza box and turn it into your very own board game. Allow your kids to think outside the box,pun intended. They can create their own rules and craft their dream board game. Once it’s complete, now it’s time for you to play by their rules. 7. Rap Battle: Someone give this kid a beat! Take turns in your family and attempt to free-style and show off your mad rapping skills. Of course, the night would not be complete without figuring out each other’s rap name. Who knows, you might realize you missed your calling in life! Don’t forget to drop the mic! 8. TikTok: We are all wondering what is the appeal to TikTok? I bet your kids know. As a family, select a fun song and come up with choreography. This is your time to shine! After you watch the video, it will remind you as to why you were never on there in the first place! It’s all in good fun, and it may give you style points down the road.

9. Movie Night: Grab the family and make a big bowl of popcorn. Gather around in the living room or entertainment space and enjoy a much needed movie night. Good luck settling on one movie as a family. To switch things up, consider making a fort out of pillows and blankets. This is a great way to keep the kids quiet and relax as a family in the comfort of your home.

10. Kids Decorative Masks: This is a crafty way to keep your kids busy and creative. Grab some cardboard or recycle any newspapers or magazines you may have lying around. Place them on your dining room table and be amazed at how simple and fun this craft project can be.
